ESPN’s Mike & Mike: Jayson Stark’s BASEBALL Trivia Question (October 12)

(Spoiler alert, answers below. And, um, in the tags)

This morning’s Best of Mike & Mike in the Morning Podcast had a…wait for it…JAYSAON STARK BASEBALL TRIVIA QUESTION!!! To understand how truly trivtastic these questions are, check out this one from a long time ago. And this one from even longer. Right. So here’s what we have:

“Only 4 active members of the 400 home run club have never played on a team that won the World Series”

Unfortunately for A-Rod (613), he just missed out on being an answer to a Jayson Stark trivia question. He won it all for the first time last season with the Yanks.

A clue, a clue! Stark adds that there are 8 active players that have hit 400 home runs.

One person immediately jumps out. And if he doesn’t, then thank you for playing. But after that guy, you still need three more. Good luck!

Jim Thome – 589 (But he did lose the World Series with the Indians in 1995 and 1997.)

Vladimir Guerrero – 436 (As you can see here, he was not yet with the Angels for their 2002 World Series win. You can also see how Barry Bonds and his big dumb melon head tore it up in the series with 4 homers and near .500 avg.)

Andruw Jones – 407 (Again, not yet with the Braves for thier 1995 World Series win. He did give the Yanks a run for their money (pun intended) in 1996, but of course the Braves came up short that year.)

Jason Giambi – 415
