7 Other Things that Happened on December 7th

Those Japs sure did get us good 69 years ago. And for that, December 7th has been “infamous” ever since. So here are 7 other reasons to….uh… celebrate…?

December 7th, 1787 – Delaware becomes the first state to ratify the United States Constitution.

December 7th, 1917 – World War I: The United States declares war on Austria-Hungary.

December 7th, 1963 – Instant Replay is used for the first time in a Army-Navy football game by its inventor, director, Tony Verna.

December 7th, 1972 – Apollo 17, the last Apollo moon mission, is launched. The crew takes the photograph known as The Blue Marble as they leave the Earth.

December 7th, 1995 – The Galileo spacecraft arrives at Jupiter, a little more than six years after it was launched by Space Shuttle Atlantis during Mission STS-34.

December 7th, 1999 – The Recording Industry Association of America files a lawsuit against the Napster file-sharing client alleging copyright infringement.

December 7th, 2010 – World of Warcraft Cataclysm was released in North America. Selling over 5 million copies on the first night.
